Jessyka Norsworthy has managed to land just over 2% or nearly 1,500 votes in the seat of Calare, despite having refused all media interviews and never having even setting foot in the electorate.

The 18 year old, mother of one is a resident of the NSW south coast town of Nowra and stood for election as part of Fred Niles Christian Democratic Party in the western NSW seat.

Gaining the number one spot on the ballot paper she gained some notoriaty as any attempts to contact her would only get as far as her mother, who then denied all media requests.

The votes equal to a swing of nearly 2% and in a closer fought seat it’s a sign that the place at number one on the ballot paper is still a worthy posting.
