Ben’s Need for Speed

An audio documentary by David Saxberg

Part 1:

It is not every day that a person climbs on to a motorbike and attempts to ride at 270 kilometres an hour., but that is exactly what Ben Felten tried to do. However, there is one small difference, Ben is totally blind.

Reporter David Saxberg, who is also completely blind, followed Ben Felten’s quest to break the world land-speed record for riding a motorcycle blindfolded.

Part 2:

In part one of Ben’s Need For Speed we found out what was motivating paralympic athlete, Ben Felten, to attempt to break the world land-speed record riding a motor cycle blind.

In this second and final part of the story, we follow Ben’s preparations for the event and witness his history making attempt at smashing the record.

Reporter David Saxberg will be back on the race track  in September 2015 to report on Ben Felten’s next attempt to break the world record.
