Cities Skyline was a game that close to release was getting lots of praise from those who were lucky enough to get hold of the game earlier than everybody else and it has lived up to the praise. This game has been called what the latest Sim City that was released in 2013 should have been however it does miss some of the random events that made Sim City a challenge.

Cities Skyline is able to capture the city building strategy game well with the basics of starting of with a small community adn eventually as you unlock crucial services such as health, police and education though reaching population milestones you can build a massive city. This is where one of the main differences between Sim City and this title comes out.  In Sim City you start with a designated area and in order to expand you need to buy a completely separate section of the map and start again. In Cities Skyline however you buy areas to expand into that are connected to the main area allowing for more expensive cities to be built.

The one main feature that would be nice to have seen been taken across is there is no sort of natural disaster that can occur and create a challenge for your city  however with the support for mod that have been put in place it may be possible to see these things added to the game. Another great feature that has come though the mod support is that people have created maps that are representative of major cities including Sydney and Brisbane so players are able to recreate those cities and try to make them better.

Overall this game does take lots of elements for the Sim City and other city builders like it however it takes these elements and make them better overall. For those who were disappointed by the lack of possibilities provided by the last Sim City and still have an interest in these city building simulators should defiantly pick this up.
