Ludacris is Back Again with New Album ‘Ludaversal’

Since his 2000 major label debut release, Back for the First Time, Ludacris has proven his worth with some of the greats in the rap game with his flow and lyricism being along the likes of Nas, Jay-Z and Eminem.

Since his gold certified Battle of the Sexes release in 2010, The Atlanta rapper began to focus on films and other aspects of his life. With his new film ‘Furious 7’ breaking numerous box office records, the newlywed MC is back to reaffirm his hip hop supremacy on his new studio album Ludaversal.

The album began production in 2011 and has finally seen the light of day after numerous release delays and boasts a plethora of big name producers including Mike Will Made It, Rico Love and Just Blaze.

The LP was promised by Ludacris himself to be his most emotional and personal album to date and that doesn’t disappoint with the track ‘Ocean Skies’ showcasing his emotive growth as he talks about his struggles with his alcoholic father who passed away in 2007 over the guitar infused J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League beat.

Ludacris continues to remind listeners that his lyrical skills have not fallen off with the Def Jam rapper boasting his supremacy from the beginning with the furious David Banner made ‘Ludaversal Intro’ to the end with the reflective, Michael Jackson sampled ‘This Has Been My World’ in which he reminds listeners that he is not going anywhere.

While showcasing emotive and lyrical range, the Atlanta rapper did not forget his Georgia roots on his ninth LP with the track ‘Come And See Me’ with Southern’s very own Big K.R.I.T. paying homage to the South side of Atlanta and a trip down memory lane on his old school candy-painted Chevy.

While showing a little more boasting than pure emotion in some of these tracks, Ludaversal still gives listeners a snarling reminder that Ludacris’ status as an all-time MC hasn’t gone anywhere.
