World of Tanks Review

Armoured warfare was the key element of warfare in WWII with armies fielding massive amounts of tanks of varying size and types. World of Tanks gives you the ability to play these historical beasts from the comfort of your own home.

World of Tanks is a Massively Multiplayer Online game (MMO) on the PC, Xbox ONE, 360 and PS4. The game is also available to play as an app on your smartphones as a cut down version of the original game.

World of Tanks is a free to download game and once you have signed in and the game has installed and updated you can immediately head out into battle with a selection of Tier I tanks from all of the different nations. This game has no campaign but if you want to learn how to play off of the proper battlefield there is a section called proving grounds where you play against AI.

As you rake in the kills, earn the XP and receive money you can go on to unlocking and buying bigger and better tanks

Tiers
When you start off as a new tanker it can seem pretty daunting to come up against larger vehicles. Most of these will not be able to play against you until you reach the Tier III tanks.

Your tank tech tree shows you all of the tiers of your nation along with the others as well. With the ability to choose any nation to start off with and focus solely on it you can reach tier X tanks in almost a year. Or you can be a jack off all trades and go up each nation bit by bit.

Types
There are only four types of vehicles you can play as. All of these tanks support each other and the game is designed that as so even a gamer who is a lone wolf will have to be a team player.

Light Tanks

Light tanks are the scouts. With great view range and radio range they can spot your enemies and allow their team mates to kill them with great efficiency. Even though lightly armoured their speed and high or rapid firing guns make them deadly to even the largest of opponents.

Medium Tanks

If you like speed, protection, firepower and stealth then you’re a medium tank. Medium tanks are the jack of all trades tanks,  each one can act as a scout, flanker and assault tank. Most mediums start appearing when you reach Tier III.

Heavy Tanks

Love blowing things up and being a badass? Heavy tanks are for you. A heavy tank’s only job is push the enemy hard, using its massive calibre guns and excellent armour protection to crush your opponents.

Tank Destroyers

Tank destroyers are the snipers with many nation have fixed in guns or turreted.

Self-Propelled Guns (SPGs)

Artillery is key to your survival. With little to no armour these tanks are only meant for one thing. Destroy the enemy from afar. With big guns that can kill a tank in one shot they are your survival and a sitting duck.

Nations
World of Tanks is a multicultural game with gamers from all over the world playing and the game letting you play in tanks from right across the world and from the time period of the early 1930s to the late 50s.
The nations are as followed:
USA
Germany
USSR
Japan
Czechoslovakia
Sweden
China
Great Britain

If you love heavy metal and taking on the world then World of Tanks is for you. There is no age limit to playing this game and no limit to what you can accomplish either, with the game being constantly updated with new tanks, Nations, maps and operations. Meet new people from Australia and overseas, game together, share laughs together and kill the enemy as a team.
