Justice League Come Together in New Trailer

The Justice League trailer has arrived and it certainly does not disappoint.

The DC Extended Universe has had a rough start. In 2016 Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad both received negative reviews from critics. One of the main criticisms of Batman v Superman was that it was “too dark”.

Warner Bros. have stated they listened to this criticism and will be changing the tone of the DC films from now on. This is clearly evident in this trailer. There seems to be more humour. For example when Barry Allen (The Flash) asks Bruce Wayne what his superpower is, Bruce replies, “I’m rich”.

I was one of the people that really liked Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It is one of my favourite movies of 2016. I do hope that Justice League will still have darker tones as it would stay true to the comics. It should not be light just for the sake of being light, however the film needs to attract a wider audience and not just the comic book fans.

One of the main highlights of the trailer is Aquaman. I think he is really going to be one of the major strengths of the film. At the end of the trailer when Aquaman is riding on the Batmobile and jumps off to fight one of the Parademons is a highly anticipated scene for me to see on the big screen.

I love the choice of the music in this trailer. The White Stripe’s The Hardest Button to Button plays during the introduction of Aquaman and I think it goes really well with the character. A cover version of Come Together done by Gary Clark Jr. and  Junkie XL plays in the second half of the trailer and it truly makes it feel so epic.

#JusticeLeague in theaters November 17.

The trailer did not show Superman, which I think is a good thing. Even though that we know he survived at the end of Batman v Superman, we do not know what he will be like. He may be evil and be controlled by the villain of the film, Steppenwolf. Warner Bros. should wait to reveal him when the film is released, or at the very least only tease what he looks like in the official poster.

There is one scene in the trailer that shows an absolutely epic battle of the women of Themyscira (Where Wonder Woman is from), the Atlanteans (Where Aquaman is from), and the Humans fighting an army from the planet Apokolips.

From this trailer, it looks like this film will be amazing. I really hope that will be the case and brings the DC Extended Universe critical success. It seems the team are going to have great chemistry and end up working together really well.

Justice League is released in Australian cinemas on November 16 2017.
