Canberra’s ‘biggest ever’ craft beer & cider event to host first street festival

The Canberra Craft Beer and Cider Festival will host its first-ever street festival on Saturday the 24th of March.

In addition to being held in the garden’s of the Mercure Hotel, the festival will expand out onto the Batman Street lawns.

The event, which is in it’s 11th year, is set to be the biggest yet, showcasing over 200 beers and ciders from Australian and international breweries.

Festival organiser, Jenny Farrell says brewers will also hold ‘mini events.’

‘We will feature an expression session around the different types of IPA’s hosted by Sydney Brewery, Bentspoke Brewing Co. and Akasha Brewing,’ she said.

‘The famous Chuck Hahn from James Squire will be running an ‘Chuck and Cheese session’ at 2pm.’

Along with sampling an extensive range of craft brews, gourmet food such as beer-inspired jerky, and live music by H-Cee and DJ Brother J will be on offer.

For the second year in a row, the Canberra Craft Beer and Cider Festival will help raise funds for Canberra’s Rise Above organisation.

Gates for the Canberra Craft Beer and Cider Festival open at 11am.

Tickets available here.
