By Jordan Mulach

Team: Australia

Nickname: Socceroos

World Cup appearances: 5

World Ranking: 40

Coach: Bert van Marwijk

Captain: Mile Jedinak

Leading goal scorer: Tim Cahill (50 goals)

Player to watch: Andrew Nabbout
Despite only scoring one goal in three games so far for the Socceroos (in a friendly against the Czech Republic), the ex-Newcastle Jets player will be looking to show his talent while fellow forward Tomi Juric battles a knee injury. If he struggles to perform, Jamie Maclaren and Tim Cahill will be on the bench as impact strikers.

NowUC Predictor:
In a pool where no other team is ranked outside the top 12, expect the Socceroos to struggle given their relatively lowly 36th place in the rankings. They struggled to even qualify for the World Cup which means this will be a tough campaign for the Aussies.
