ALP picks up seats in Victoria

By KIA HANDLEY
The seat of Jagajaga in Victoria has been won by the Australian Labor Part by Jenny Macklin.

Carly Burgess is an ALP supporter and is at the celebrations in the electorate of Jagajaga were she said the current mood is a lot more relaxed now then it was earlier in the eveing.

“Everyone is really happy,” she said, “we have had a very rough evening but it is nice to know the result and to have it in our favour.”

Labor won two seats from the Coalition in Victoria: McEwen and La Trobe.

However, as the votes for other Victorian seats continue to be counted the predictions are that Labor will not hold on to the state of Victoria.
