Canberra Bashing
CANBERRA bashing has heightened with Canberra’s big bash over last weekend. Accoring to Crikey, the term ‘Canberra bashing’ is actually now a term in the dictionary – clearly proving a popular ‘sport’.
But why is Canberra such a popular city…to bash? Why are people not just happy living in their own city getting about their own business?
This is clearly an issue prevalent all over local and even international media, even the BBC.
People have noted we are defensive because we’re at that teenager phase and we want to just enjoy our birthday celebrations without any party poopers.
Whether you are pro or anti Canberra doesn’t concern me. But I would like to say this much:
If you are living and Canberra and complain that it’s boring, it’s simple: move. Or if you aren’t from Canberra and your fond of Canberra bashing, is your city really that boring that you need to spend your time bashing another?
