Top 5 Tips for Concert-Goers

First, let me just say that The Birds of Tokyo at the UC refectory was amazing. The band gave

us an amazing experience, the silky vocals and heart-pumping music made for one hell of a night.

For those going to concerts for the first time, let me tell you that there is an etiquette that must be observed.  I noticed a few things during the Birds of Tokyo concert that I think we should all know!

  1. REMEMBER YOUR IDENTIFICATION. You don’t want to be waiting in line for half an hour only to realize you left your ‘ID’ at home. Remembering the ticket may help as well.
  2. Wear comfortable shoes, you will be standing for a long time and your feet will get sore. Also be prepared to get your feet trodden on, if you’re as uncoordinated as me you will step on a few toes, literally.
  3. Have some respect, feel the atmosphere. If the whole room is still and nodding their heads along to the tunes, don’t feel the need to dance like you’re in a nightclub. If you are swinging your arms violently, you will hit somebody and they may be bigger than you.
  4. If you’re a cialis uk tall person like me, make sure you aren’t standing in front of the shortest people in the room. If you are, let them stand in front of you or at least offer. As a tall person I feel very guilty about blocking the views of people, but there is only so much you can do. I’m possibly too tall for concerts. If somebody is persistently blocking your view, you can always push them out of the way and make it look like an accident.
  5. Please, get into the music, dance (respectfully) and sing along if you know the words. Enjoying yourself makes the concert-going experience better for everyone. It makes for a better atmosphere when people are having fun and the band is more likely to give you an encore.

BONUS TIP: Go to the toilet beforehand, there’s nothing worse than being stuck in a mosh-pit and needing to use the toilet at the same time. Toilets will be dirty, that’s just something you want to avoid altogether.

All in all, remember to enjoy yourself. Concerts are a great experience that you will remember for a long time, particularly if you are bearing witness to a sensational act like Birds of Tokyo.
