Tilse joins former Raiders in Super League

With round 7 of the NRL now completed, so too has Dane Tilse’s rugby league career in Australia.

Tilse played his 201st and final game for the Raiders in their 30-22 win over the West Tigers on Sunday.

He will link up with former Raiders teammate and captain Terry Campese as well as former Raiders hard man Michael Weyman at English Super League club Hull KR.

Tilse joins a growing number of former his Raiders teammates who have gone on to play in the English competition.

Former Raiders, Roosters and Sharks half Todd Carney is also playing in his first year of Super League this year, playing for Catalans Dragons.

Carney has been successful so far for Catalans, but it is possible that he could yet find his way back to the NRL following the NRL’s ruling he was unfairly terminated by the Sharks last year.

Current Raiders player Sam Williams also spent time at Catalans last year after leaving Canberra for the St George Illawarra Dragons.

Williams returned to Canberra this year after playing just 4 games for St George and 10 games for Catalans.

Former Raiders favourite Joel Monaghan is enjoying success in the Super League, playing for the Warrington Wolves were he has scored 130 tries in just 126 matches.

Monaghan has also been awarded captaincy of the side after joining the club just 4 years ago after being released by the Raiders following the publication of a ‘Mad Monday’ prank.

If the success his former teammates have enjoyed in England is anything to go by, Tilse should be sure to thrive for his new club for 2015.
