Five Funniest Female Comedians

1. Rebel Wilson – Australian comedian Rebel Wilson shot to fame in the US after starring in a number of movies, such as Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect. She is known for her improvisation skills, and unashamedly bogan persona.

2. Amy Poehler – despite struggling through her 20’s, Amy Poehler found success after her regular appearances on Saturday Night Live. She produced the popular comedy ‘Parks and Recreation’, and in 2014 released her auto-biography Yes Please. 

3. Tina Fey – another SNL favourite, Tina Fey has found her fame through writing, producing and starring in her own shows, such as ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt‘ and ‘30 Rock‘.

4. Elizabeth Banks – Banks is not only a comedian, but a strong advocate for women’s rights. Her dry sense of humour landed her a number of roles in films, and more recently she has stepped into a director’s role – for Pitch Perfect 2. 

5. GloZell Green – having created her own empire through a YouTube channel, GloZell has had more than one viral video. As well as this, she runs a blog dedicated to her idol, Jay Leno. Her career peaked in 2015 when she interviewed Barack Obama at the White House.
