Betty Who?

Don’t let the name confuse you, this talented singer and songwriter is no stranger to the music industry. The 25 year old Australian artist, Jessica Newham, goes by the stage name Betty Who and has just released her second studio album, The Valley.

Betty Who is best known for her 2016 smash hit, I Love You Always Forever. The song is Who’s first to rate on the Australian Aria Charts, peaking at number six and being certified double platinum selling more than 130,000 copies around the country. Since the song’s release in June 2016, the song has been streamed more than 16.5 million times on Spotify and has received 1.7 million YouTube views. The song also serves as the first single from her album that was released at the end of March 2017.

The Valley is a collaboration with a number of writers and producers having worked with Who to create the album. As a result the sound of the album is a feel good, electro pop story of life’s emotional rollercoaster, providing an anthem for the many highs and lows along the way.

The album sees Who collaborate with American rapper Warren G on the track Free to Fly. Who also teams up with members from American a capella group Pentatonix, Scott Hoying and Mitch Grassi, known as Superfruit on the track Beautiful.

At only 25 year old we should expect big things from this Aussie artist over the coming years.

The Valley is out now.
