Multicultural Flavour in Kingston

The Old Bus Depot Markets in Kingston are everything you could expect of a classic Sunday market and more! The markets are open from 10am to 4pm with themed days adding another dimension. The markets are spread over two levels with a variety of stalls open for people with different tastes. Sunday 6th May, 2018, was a multicultural themed day with food stalls from many different countries set up to accommodate the traditional market layout.

The markets consist of jewellery, fresh produce, flowers and an array of small goods. A large range of activities were also on display with the tarot readings available as well as a mascot for the Starlight Foundation providing entertainment for children.

The multicultural theme was thriving in the food stalls with countries such as Laos, Jordan and Ethiopia being represented.

There was a large number of people in attendance with certainly more than was expected to turn out with a diverse range of age groups. The number of people made for a good atmosphere and the addition of live music created a relaxing time to view the goods on offer.

With the markets being in Kingston, it makes for a complete day out as there are a number of cafes and restaurants along the waterfront to enjoy a meal or snack before or after the market.
