~how I’m feeling~ – An Album to Get You in the Feels

The latest album from Ari Straprans Leff, known by the stage name Lauv, is nothing more than a joyride for the ears.

Recently released on the 6th of March 2020, Lauv’s debut studio album has already hit #16 on the US Billboard 200 charts and continues to remain high up.

Known for his “sad boy” music, Lauv provides a perfect balance of emotional and upbeat music in ~how I’m feeling~ that caters to all moods.

When listening to the album it is clear that Lauv has used personal experiences from his own life to fuel his songs and add value to the meaning behind them.

Having experienced both depression and OCD, most of Lauv’s music expresses his experience in dealing with these mental health issues.

Yet while these experiences are a common theme in most of his music, Lauv doesn’t let it define this album.

~how I’m feeling~ hits hard with the featured artists, with the likes of Anne-Marie, Alessia Cara, Troye Sivan, LANY, Sofia Reyes and BTS all making an appearance.

Going into the songs themselves if you’re looking for something to blast in your car and jam along to then songs like “El Tejano“, “Sweatpants“, “I’m so tired…” and “Tattoos Together” are the songs for you.

Alternatively, if you’re looking for something to listen to at 3 am when you’re in your feels. Songs like “Sad Forever”, “Changes“, “Julia” and “For Now” will take you to that place.

Lauv’s ability to evoke an emotional response from the listener and tell a story through his music is a big factor in this album.

Overall ~how I’m feeling~ is an album that will make you think about how you are feeling. Whether you are going through a rough time and need something to relate to, or even if you just need songs that are catchy and easy to listen to. Then this album is the perfect escape from your day-to-day.

Lauv is currently on his “The One Man Boyband on Tour” tour and is heading to Australia in September 2020.

I’ve already got my ticket, will I see you there?
