Peni Botiki’s Footballing Dream

Growing up in a small village of Fiji, current Illawarra Cutters second rower Peni Botiki always dreamed of playing in the National Rugby League. While his family was always his first love, he knew that in order to make a better life for them, he had to move to Australia and pursue an NRL contract. Almost three years ago to the day, the then-23-year-old packed his bag and headed to Australia, making the heartbreaking decision to leave his family behind.
