Reload Bar & Games: Guitar Hero Competition

Iron Maiden, Guns N’ Roses, Dragonforce, Scorpions and an abundance of other huge names were all part of the Guitar Hero line up for Reload Bar & Games’ absolutely rocking night out. Reload’s ‘Legends of Rock’ tournament was a testament and a challenge to seasoned Guitar Hero’s and Heroine’s all over Canberra and gave the pros the stand to show off their finely honed skills over the night.

With help from the friendly and fun feel of the awesome new venue, Reload Bar, the lights were dimmed, the atmosphere casual, and the drinks flowing, which allowed the night to begin with some hard and fast songs.

From the beginning, the likes of Iron Maiden’s ‘(666) The Number of the Beast’, and the old favourite, ‘Through Fire and Flames’ by Dragonforce were bust out and not once did the night slow down from there.

Some contestants came armed with their very own customized guitars, including winner of the night, Mystara Holweg who wowed contestants and customers alike by showing off her crazy skills, and demonstrating that she was even able to bring it just as hard with her back turned to the screen.

Dressed head to toe in an array of pastel pink to match her guitar, the fearsome guitar heroine, who had previously taken out a guitar hero state championship at the mere age of thirteen, went head to head with fellow finalist, Simon Linabury taking on three of the hardest tunes available, and coming away with a victory in the form of Metallica’s ‘One’.

The competition brought together a group of amazingly talented guitar hero gamers to create an awesome vibe where songs were thrashed and friendships formed. The night was a booming success, and revealed that video games, good company and alcohol are the perfect formula for an unforgettable night out.
