2014 Scott Australian 24 Hour Mountain Bike Championships – Course Map

Below is the course map for the 2014 Scott Australian 24 Hour Mountain Bike Championships. This was ridden for NowUC by the coach of the CORC LIV Women’s Development Team and former Australian downhill champion, Claire Whiteman.

The course for 2014 is a combination of tough, gear grinding climbs, technical switchbacks and fast flowing, exciting descents. Bobby Pin Climb was the first major hurdle that riders faced, 3.2 kilometres into their lap. ABC Switchbacks and the long climb up past the old observatory proved the most challenging sections of the course, the switchback at Tall Trees caught some riders out, and even 3x World 24 Hour Solo MTB Champion Jess Douglas was apparently “surprised” at the sudden climb halfway down Skyline. But once you were over that, through the excitement of Luge and past the lights and music set up at Wombat Junction, it was all downhill to HQ and transition, ready for your team mate to take over, or for the solo riders, another lap.
