Does This Cat Trick Really Work?

Last week, a Buzzfeed article that told the story of a owner messing around with her cat by using tape to create a square on the ground went viral. The cat sits in the square space on the floor for apparently no reason other than the tape looking like a box.

As a cat lover with two unwilling cats at my disposal, I decided to give this a try.

First, I used masking tape to create the box shape on my floor. Secondly, I waited.

I’m not saying my cats are the smartest creatures in the universe, but they took one look at the square and then found other things to do.

Even Arthur, my black and white best friend who likes boxes more than food, preferred to stare outside instead.

I’ve seen images all over the internet, especially on twitter, of this trick working but as you can clearly see, either my cats are really that dumb or Buzzfeed and the rest of the internet are liars.
