Canberra Comedy Festival

The Canberra Comedy Festival is 19-25 March this year. This is a chance for students to take a break from study and have a laugh, and see some of the greatest comedians currently touring the country.

Some shows have sold out, including the Opening Night Gala and Urzila Carlson’s “Studies have shown”, but there are plenty of other acts to see.

The festival is attracting comedians from all over the world including Arj Barker (USA), Stephen K. Amos (UK), and Cal Wilson (NZ) and more.

There are plenty of home grown comedians including Joel Creasey, Matt Okine, Claire Hooper, and Dave Thornton.

If you fancy yourself as a bit of a comedian, you can sign up for Raw Comedy and take to the stage in the open mic competition, on Thursday 22 March, at The Street Theatre. Or, you can check out more information for that first hand experience here.

Finish off the night off at Festival Square where you can enjoy a drink, podcast and some live music.

When: Festival runs from 19-25 March

Where: Canberra Theatre Centre, Civic Square, The Street Theatre, Pop-up reunion village, the Civic Pub and the Big Band Room, at the ANU

Ticket prices: Varies depending on the show.
