Located two hours north of Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast consists of many small coastal towns such as Noosa, Mooloolaba, Kawana Waters, and Maroochydore. Home to the legendary Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin and his family, the zoo is a great family fun activity. The destination is packed with over 1,200 animals and many activities to get the day going. Feel like petting a koala or getting up close and personal with a kangaroo? The Australian Zoo has you covered!
The zoo is located 30 minutes away from Mooloolaba on Steve Irwin Way and is stacked full of events and shows. It is a fun-filled day for the whole family.
The Big Pineapple is another famous destination on the Sunshine Coast. Located in Nambour which is about 20 minutes away from Mooloolaba, the Big Pineapple is home to many things.
Not only is it home to a large pineapple but also offers the Pineapple Train, the Wildlife HQ Zoo and the Big Pineapple Café. The zoo may be smaller than Australia Zoo but offers a home to over 200 species.
