Iggy Azalea: The New Classic album cover

Ambitious Australian rapper Iggy Azalea proves she is as easy on the ears as she is on the eyes with her debut album The New Classic.
The 23-year-old pushed the album’s release date back numerous times, but dropped teaser singles to keep fans entertained while waiting. When “Azaleans” finally got access to the album they found it was worth the wait.
Iggy’s audacious attitude is obvious throughout the whole album, and her underdog story is the main lyrical theme. The tracks feature upbeat, pop-heavy bass lines, designed to get people moving and dancing.
Of the 15 tracks on the album, my pick is Rolex. The track adopts a relaxed pace, deep bass line and lyrics that show a softer side to the notoriously hard core rapper.
Featured on the album is Rita Ora in Black Widow, T.I in Change Your Life, Mavado in Lady Patra and Charli XCX in Fancy.

A number of these tracks suggest leeway for remixes across a few genres in the future, suggesting a bright future for the Aussie rapper.
