Miranda Sings is coming to Canberra!
Five years ago, nobody would have imagined that using social media could help you build a career – but that is exactly what comedienne Colleen Ballinger has done. Seven years ago, Ballinger created a character called ‘Miranda Sings’ – and little did she know, she would end up with over three million subscribers.
Miranda is known for her over-the-top and tone-deaf performances of popular songs. Her cover of Someone Like You by Adele received over 16 million views. She has also released a Christmas Album, starred alongside Jerry Seinfeld in his show Comedians in Cars getting Coffee, been a guest star on Jimmy Fallon, and just this month announced a book release. It’s safe to say that this aspiring singer has taken the world by storm.
Ballinger is currently touring Australia with Miranda’s ‘selp helf’ tour, and on Sunday 29th March that show will reach the Playhouse Theatre in Canberra. When tickets went on sale in November last year, the 700 seat theatre sold out within a week. Along with her show, guests are able to pay to become ‘VIP’ which means that the experience includes meeting Miranda backstage after the show.
Along with her ‘roadies’ (Ballinger’s sister and fiance), Miranda has performed to sold out shows in the US, UK, Canada, New Zealand, and now Australia. During her time here, she will visit Sydney, Brisbane, Newcastle, Perth, Adelaide, and Melbourne.
