A Fantastic Classic: Zelda Majoras Mask 3DS

Weird, quirky and exceptionally well re-mastered, Majoras Mask is easily one of the most highly anticipated games of 2015.

Play as the main character Link as you take him on a journey through various areas and temples in order to defeat the evil, objectionable and somewhat vexing Skull Kid as he tries to reek havoc all over Hyrule.

Majoras Mask takes you on a journey through the use of a variety of masks, which change his physical state in order to suit his surroundings. In classic Zelda style however sometimes these journeys are not through your own doing or choice…

Oh, and you only have 3 days to complete the game before the moon will fall and the land of Termina will meet a terrible fate.

15 years after the initial release, fans were delighted when Majors Mask was announced on 3DS and they have not been let down. It pushes the porting of the 3DS hardware with smooth running and meticulous graphics and none of the grainy, often glitch ridden software that fans are used to.

However, some have argued that it is this grainy, hard to see software that makes The Legend of

Zelda games timeless classics whereas others have argued that the considerable length Nintendo has gone through to make the game better for all outweighs the beliefs that the original version is better.

The new features, such as the grain free graphics, add to the game in such a way that you forget it had been released on another platform many years ago.

As someone who has played both the original and the remake, my take on the remake was that of nothing but awe. From the time I picked up the game to the time I put it down, it was like I was playing it for the first time.

Overall this brilliantly executed remake is a must have for any diehard Zelda or even those looking for a new game to play on the 3DS, especially if you enjoy a challenge (and a puzzle or two). I can guarantee you won’t find yourself bored before you find yourself rage quitting at the sheer frustration that makes you incapable of putting the game down.
