Mortal Kombat XL is the DLC ‘bundle’ version of Mortal Kombat X, including nine extra characters, skin packs, and new fighting moves.

IGN named Mortal Kombat X as the best fighting game of 2015 and Mortal Kombat XL is worth getting if you do not already own X, as the price difference is fair in relation to how much additional content you receive.

However, the additional content does not heavily affect the game. Extra skin packs and characters are fun, but the new moves are the only change that is not superficial.

At its core, Mortal Kombat XL is the same great fighting game. The game offers many different ways to play in order to keep the audience interested.

Story mode includes cut scenes that keep the player engaged, and rotates the character that you are playing as so the battles stay fresh.

If you want to play multiple battles as the same character, Towers allows you to play successive battles against different characters.

Online and Faction modes allow you to battle against other players, or with a team, using an Internet connection.

The gameplay of Mortal Kombat XL is difficult but rewarding. Combos are a key element to winning the game. However, they can be hard to learn and differ for each character.

Overall, Mortal Kombat XL is a great game. The trailer can be viewed below.
