Electronic band Bag Raiders have been busy since their tour and the end of last year and making new music for all of us to enjoy. They have released their new EP ‘Checkmate’ that came out in January this year.

The EP only has three tracks but all of them definitely make you want to get on your couch and dance the night away. The first track is Checkmate featuring vocals from singer Benjamin Joseph and it starts off with a catchy and boppy beat that then leads straight into the vocals. The beat really catches your attention as soon as the track begins and makes you want to keep listening. The chorus has a sort of futuristic sound in the background if you listen carefully. It’s definitely a great dance track to lighten up any mood.

The next track is Breakdown and it has a similar but different intro to Checkmate but it starts off with a slow pace beat with the vocals. It then leads to a piano playing a nice slow tune and then the beat comes in suddenly bringing in a slow pop sound. The track continues like this throughout the song until then end where it starts to get more faster but even though it is a slower track, it keeps your head bopping and foot tapping. It is a perfect summer road trip track.

Magic Feel is the final track and it is different to the two previous tracks with its change of beat to more pop funk. The beat makes a big turn to a more electronic sound and continues to have no vocals, which makes the track more interesting to listen to with the change of sound. It slows down towards to then again before the track ends. It is a great dance track with a lot of rhythm.

Overall, all the tracks on the EP have similar beats but have their own unique sound and vibe. Each one has an electronic element that stays alive throughout the tracks and brings a lot of dance excitement to the songs. It is a great EP that is full of dance vibes and catchy beats that is definitely a 10/10.
