In November of 2015, reality TV star and entrepreneur Khloe Kardashian released her first ever book, Strong Looks Better Naked. The inspirational biography takes the reader on a personal journey of Khloe’s life and step-by-step reveals how Khloe’s major transformation in the last four years has made her the happiest, healthiest and most successful she’s ever been.

In judging the book by its cover, one would be forgiven for rolling their eyes in thinking its a resemblance of Khloe’s arguably more famous sister Kim Kardashian’s book Selfish, which consists only of close-up selfies. Needless to say, I was also anticipating something similar. However, I couldn’t have been any more wrong…

The first part of the book, ‘Body’, takes the reader back to the early days of Khloe’s childhood. She speaks intimately of her continuing struggle with body image, relationship problems, and the passing of her father, Robert Kardashian, which saw her to resort to excessive partying and alcohol to numb her pain. It wasn’t until 2011 when Khloe moved to Dallas in Texas with professional basketball player and former husband Lamar Odom that she decided to change her life for the better. She began exercising daily, swapped out junk food for more healthy food, and rejuvenated her friendships and relations within her family. Furthermore, Khloe details how she achieved her dream body, gives some of her favourite fitness tips, and includes some of her own personal recipes for the reader to make at home.

The second section, ‘Mind’, follows on from how a strengthened body will consequently result in a strengthened mind. It looks into how dedication, discipline and awareness are key to becoming organised and will help you in realising your purpose in life. In doing so, Khloe makes reference to the fact that getting through the bad days is an inevitable part of conditioning the mind. She says it is how we learn to deal with these demons in order to slowly but surely make progress.

Lastly, the final section of the book, ‘Heart’, will leave you with a lot of important things to think about. Khloe illuminates the significance of being compassionate, having self-love, and always being kind to yourself and others.

#StrongLooksBetterNaked ❤️thank you all for the sweet reviews!!! Blessed and thankful!!

This book is surprisingly addictive.

Khloe’s book was nothing like the conceited, boring memoir I had expected. Instead, her writing was easy to understand, the chapters flowed along nicely, and she even had interesting features from her nutritionist and personal trainer.

It was refreshing to see that the 31-year-old is more than just a celebrity and that she’s a normal human being like us too. This book has provided me with compelling knowledge about how good exercise can be for you physically and mentally, and I am now more motivated than ever to kick some life goals, spread positivity and be the best person I can be. Ultimately, I am taking away so much more from this book than I ever could have imagined.

My advice: go ahead and buy the book. Snuggle up on the couch with a cosy blanket – book in one hand and chocolate in the other – and indulge in this book without having to feel guilty for it. I promise you’ll think more highly of Khloe Kardashian by the end of it. And who knows… maybe you’ll become a fan of hers too.
